Bella's Story

Bella comes to us from a need-to-rehome situation. Her previous mom reached out to us to take Bella and her friend Cookie because she could no longer keep them. When Bella first came to us, she hid for weeks, only sneaking around at night to eat and drink. Her previous home reports that she had been bounced from home to home, and we can tell this has clearly taken a toll on Bella's spirit. Luckily, as time passes and she becomes more comfortable, her personality has started to shine. She is very affectionate, often times climbing right up on a human lap to snuggle. She is extremely sweet and gentle but easily startled due to relearning how to trust humans. While she did come to us with a friend, Bella is not attached to any other felines. She is happiest being on her own in a quiet, calm setting with her humans. She can live with other cats and dogs, but she is picky about which ones she likes. Bella is around 8 years old, UTD on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and litter box trained.

The Tabby Shack's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are welcome to contact us via phone, text, or email regarding any questions/concerns about our rescues prior and following adoption. Once a rescue has been selected, we require a questionnaire to be filled out answering questions about current household and pets. We also require a vet reference, which we use to contact the adopter's current vet to ensure they appropriately take care of any current/former animals in their household. Once we feel confident the potential adopter is a safe home for our rescue, we have the adopter sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and then they can pick up/we will deliver the rescue to the adopter's residence. Once the adoption has taken place, we like to stay in regular contact with the adopter during the 45-day adjustment period to ensure both the adopter and the rescue are adjusting well. If problems arise during the 45-day period and the adopter cannot/will not keep the rescue cat, we make arrangements to return the rescue cat to us.
