Bella and Charlotte (REDUCED Adoption Fee) 's Story
Bella (black and white) and Charlotte (tabby) are about three years old and were surrendered due to a change in living situation and not being allowed in the new place.

Bella is like Charlotte's protector and will stand in front of her to "shield" her, as if she knows that she's scared. However, Charlotte is sweet, too, and has been enjoying having her chin scratched. She is VERY nervous in the shelter environment and will much more likely to settle in and open up once in a home.

Bella is pretty outgoing after a couple of days. A quiet adults-only home would be the best fit for them. It's possible they could get used to a mellow dog that doesn't bark a lot and won't chase them.

We would like them to stay together, and so they have a reduced adoption fee (BOGO). Charlotte is so shy here that, on her own, she would likely wait a long time to be adopted. However, we will still vet applications for them like we would any others, and whoever adopts them has to be patient and willing to give Charlotte her space and work with her. Unfortunately, shy kitties and bonded pairs often wait longer than others to be adopted. Hopefully that won't be the case for these two!

***You may notice that they have been eartipped. They were already spayed before coming to our shelter, so we did not tip their ears. They could have been feral as kittens; they could have been intially from an overpopulated area where they eartip most or all strays regardless; they could've been thought to be feral but then turned out to be friendly; etc. Without knowing their history, it's anyone's guess. But they are beautiful even with tipped ears***

(All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, de-wormed, tested for FeLV/FIV, and treated for fleas before adoption)

Our adoption application and policies can be found here:

www.secondchancear.org/adopt-1
