Bella's Story

A volunteer writes:
"She is playful, lively and cuddly"...Bella's owner's words. Bella unfortunately has not shown to us this side of her. She is having a hard time at the care center as she is also a shy cat who needs time to get used to new things and people. The hustle and bustle of a busy shelter does not help, of course and makes the situation worse. Bella is starting to trust and accepts gentle petting on her head, even leans and moves a little forward in her cubby. She slow blinks at me when I talk to her softly. If someone suddenly enters her ward or makes a loud noise, Bella quickly goes back to square one, the back of her cubby. Bella is a sweet cat who does not fit well in a shelter environment. She needs a home sweet home, a quiet one, low traffic and with a new owner who loves and understands shy kitties. Bella was surrendered with Butter as their owner lost their sight and became unable to care for their pets. She is six year old, apparently healthy, already spayed and could go home ...Today! Ask to meet sweet Bella when you visit us at the Manhattan Care Center!

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
Bella tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 11.8lbs Age: 6yrs 1mths 0wks Animal has been Spayed
