Beefcake 's Story
Beefcake is ready for adoption!

Beefcake is almost 10 years young, extremely handsome, slightly wheezy, and full of personality.

He came to us through a shelter transfer after his family surrendered him and he arrived in pretty rough shape. Since then he’s had the full Big House glow up. He’s lost weight, had dental surgery, full diagnostics, and a lot of TLC. Now he’s stable, feeling good, and fully leaning into his new era of toy chasing, snack supervising, and dramatic floor flopping.

Beefcake does have asthma and one partially collapsed lung that is permanent. It sounds scarier than it looks day to day. He still runs, plays, climbs, and acts like a goof, he just does it with a little extra wheeze.

He takes two puffs a day with his AeroKat inhaler like a total pro. Honestly he’s better at it than most humans. The inhaler is a human medication so it’s relatively affordable, and we will send him home with three months of treatment to get started.

Asthma is chronic and can progress, so his adopter needs to be comfortable managing that long term.

Otherwise Beefcake is living his best life. He loves to play, climb, eat snacks, and then dramatically collapse onto the floor or couch like a beached whale who has simply done too much today. He can groom himself but also doesn’t mind the occasional spa day. His ears can get a little yeasty if they aren’t kept clean, and continuing his gentle weight loss journey will help keep him comfortable.

Personality wise he is incredibly loving, very funny, and deeply devoted to his person. He does come with a little sass, but it’s the charming kind.

He can be selective with other cats, is fine with respectful dogs, and would love a home where someone appreciates a handsome middle aged man with a strong personality and excellent lounging skills.

We are opening applications to Beefcake’s followers first before posting him publicly on Petfinder.

If you think you might be Beefcake’s person, email info@thebighousecats.com for an application

P.S. His name really is Beefcake and we stand by that decision haha
