Beau (FIV+)'s Story
Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. The application process requires pre-adoption applications, references, and interviews with you and those listed on your application in order to ensure a successful placement. If you are interested in learning more about the pet listed, please complete an application at https://form.jotform.com/60793520585259 and a representative will be in touch!

Beau came to DunRoamin' on June 19, 2022 from the Somerville, NB area where he had been hanging around for a few seasons, but no one could take him in. Recently he had been observed to have what appeared to be injuries on his face.

Beau was accepted by DunRoamin' and immediately examined by his new vet friend who observed an infected injury to his right cheek and several smaller wounds on his feet, one of which was an exposed ligament. These wounds are most probably the result of an attack by another animal while he was trying to survive on his own. Beau is estimated to have been born about June 19, 2018, so was about four years old when he arrived at DunRoamin'.

Beau has undergone sedation several times so far to have his wound drained, treated and sutured. He was prescribed pain medications and antibiotics to combat his injuries. Beau was also diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which you can read about here: http://www.dunroaminstrayandrescue.com/fiv_felv.html.
He currently lives with his other two FIV+ friends, Crombie and Jedi and all are doing well. Donations to help with his medical care are greatly appreciated.
