Beary's Story

Surrendered nearly a year ago with her sister Jumper, Beary came to us after her owner moved into a memory care facility and became unable to care for her beloved cats.

Having spent most of her life content in the laid back lap of luxury, the move to the shelter was such a shock to her little system that she spent most of this past year tightly coiled up in the confines of her catree’s tiny nook-constantly on edge and unwilling to engage with anyone else animal and human alike- and that’s just no way to live.

While Beary has finally learned to trust shelter staff, allowing pets and even demanding head-butts (and Churus or Temptations), she still spends the majority of her day hiding away from the commotion that often fills the days of the shelter.

We want so much more for Beary, and we know the right person is out there! Beary would love a calm and quiet home to call her own- ideally as only-pet or with other mature and chill cats (she’s not the biggest fan of dogs). Beary will likely do best in a home without smaller children, and would probably be the purrfect match for a patient and understanding someone looking to laze their days away with a snuggly little shadow.

Beary is spayed, up-to-date on all her shots, and has been Heartworm, FeL-V, + FiV tested. Beary is a senior gal and would benefit from a diet catered to her needs as an older lady! Beary is sometimes prone to hairballs, but is a big fan of both the Tomlyn Maple Flavor Laxatone and the Tomlyn Laxatone Chews- both which really seem to help.
