BEANS's Story

Beans is a super sweet, affectionate boy who loves cuddling up and sleeping right on your lap. He enjoys calm, gentle pets and may get a little overstimulated with rough handling, so a soft touch is best for this sensitive little guy. When he’s not snuggling, Beans loves to play and will happily chase a ball all day (he loves to carry his favorite one around the house) He gets along great with other cats and is curious about my dog! Beans is ready to bring lots of love, purrs, and playful energy to his forever family. Overstimulated Cats: Overstimulated cats can often play rough, nip, scratch, and become over-the-top way too quickly and sometimes these behaviors happen because of too much petting or attention. Most of the time these cats are very friendly, affectionate, and love attention; however, they can strike out in a short amount of time. Learn to know when your cat is becoming overstimulated and stop petting them as soon as the behaviors begin. It is best to not encourage overstimulated behaviors so you can teach your cat how to accept attention appropriately. Use toys such as feather wands, balls, and toy mice to help distract your cat. Also have several interactive play sessions with him daily to help get his energy out! I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region's Adoption Policy

You’ll notice each pet will have an info card attached to their kennel with an ID number. Write down this ID number so a matchmaker can give you more information. You will also be asked to complete an adopter survey to help our matchmakers assist you in finding a new pet that’s just the right fit. We limit visitations to two pets per family, per day. This ensures everyone interested in adopting has the opportunity to spend time with their potential new family member. Puppies and kittens 5 months and younger are not able to visit before going home for adoption. Please speak with a staff member for details. Once your visit is complete, you will meet with a customer service representative. We will review any special medical or behavior information and offer tips on how to help you get settled in. Please bring a photo ID and review any pet restrictions that may exist within your lease/rental agreement, HOA bylaws, or city’s ordinances.
