Beaker's Story

Beaker isn't just a cat; he's a testament to resilience and the boundless capacity for love. This handsome four-year-old is a walking, purring lovebug, ready to shower you with affection in the form of head boops, shoulder rides, and the most comforting hugs you've ever experienced. He's a chatterbox, eager to tell you all about his day and listen intently to yours as he drapes over your shoulders like a furry scarf. His tail is fluffy, long, and expressive - but not nearly as expressive as his eyes that are just a little crossed!

Just a year ago, Beaker's story was heartbreaking. Found clinging to life in a tree by a determined family after neighbors reported hearing days of desperate cries, Beaker arrived at our rescue a shadow of the cat we imagine he must have been before he found himself stuck high up. This sweetheart was battling a severe kidney injury, dehydration, and starvation, but it did not stop him from showing his rescuers an astounding amount of affection. Thanks to their kindness and a Facebook post in a local group that our founder saw and couldn't stop thinking about, he made his way to us.

We quickly realized how sick he was, and his prognosis was grim - our vets truly suspected he would be able to survive the damage his body had endured. As a small rescue dealing with multiple medical cases, we simply did not have the resources to pay for an ICU stay... but as we both have been vet techs for half our lives, we just *knew* we could help him! Beaker received round-the-clock care, including receiving IV fluids 24/7 in both our home and coming to work with me for day hospitalization, and this amazing boy defied the odds! Now, he's a picture of health, radiating gratitude with every head-nuzzle.

Now, vibrant and thriving, he's a picture of health, ready to fill your life with joy and companionship, a constant reminder that even the smallest creatures can possess the greatest strength. He's such a wonderful cat, in fact, that the only reason he has not been adopted yet... is because it's been quite hard for our founder to say goodbye to him! Now that he is healthy, though, he truly deserves a home where he can get as much attention as he wants (and boy, does he want a lot!) that would be limited by her own cats with their many medical problems. Beaker deserves a home of his own to thrive in! Could that home be yours?

Beaker is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FeLV. He does not seem bothered by other cats but may not be best friends with every cat he meets, and they may just coexist. We have not officially tested him with dogs or kids, but he would likely do just fine with both as long as they are properly introduced and cat-safe themself. Interested in meeting Beaker? Here is a link to our adoption application to fill out, and we will contact you within 72 hours if we think you may be a good fit for Beaker! https://form.jotform.com/212615358960055

**Note: Because of state licensing requirements, adopters must live in Massachusetts. Thank you for understanding, and we hope to be able to expand in the future!
