Beaker's Story

Meet Beaker!

Beaker's story is one of resilience, determination, and second chances.
When Beaker came to Whiskers from the shelter, he was experiencing severe neurological symptoms and his prognosis was grim. We were told he likely had a brain tumor, but something told us this special boy deserved a deeper look before anyone gave up on him. After advanced diagnostics, we received an answer that changed everything: Beaker didn't have a brain tumor at all-he had ocular FIP.

What followed was a long journey back to health. Beaker underwent not one, but two rounds of FIP treatment after gaining a significant amount of weight during his first treatment course and needing additional therapy. Through it all, he proved just how much fight he had in him.
Today, Beaker is thriving and ready to find the family he's worked so hard for.

Beaker is a unique guy with a big personality. He's playful, curious, and enjoys spending time with his people, but he's not particularly interested in making feline friends. In fact, he'd be happiest as your one and only pet, where he can soak up all the attention for himself.

Like many of us, Beaker is currently working on his fitness goals and will need a family committed to following his feeding plan and helping him maintain a healthy weight. After everything he's been through, it's important that his adopter continues to pay attention to his health and keeps him on the path to success.
Beaker has received an incredible amount of veterinary care, love, and support to get him where he is today. Now all he needs is a family willing to cherish the second chance he fought so hard to receive.

If you're looking for a special cat with an inspiring story, a playful spirit, and lots of love to give, Beaker is ready to start his next chapter with you.
