Bartholomeu's Story

Bartholomeu, affectionately called Bart, is a 2-year-old cuddle expert looking for a loving home. This sweet, easygoing boy adores human companionship and is always ready for snuggles and affection. Despite his rough start as a stray, Bart has proven to be an incredibly resilient and gentle soul. Heâ€ÂTMs fully litter box and scratching post trained, preferring to relax over playing alone—though he enjoys interactive play with his humans pals. If you're looking for a low-energy, affectionate cat who will always be by your side, Bart is the perfect match!

Bart has been living with another adoptable FeLV+ kitty in his foster home, Lily, and they have become good friends! If you're looking for a purrfect pair of companions, consider adopting Bart and Lily together. These adoptions are BOGO if adopted together.

Bartholomeu is FeLV+. Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), is a virus that attacks the immune system of a cat. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives— but they have a much shorter life expectancy than FeLV negative cats. Over time, an infected cat's health may progressively deteriorate or they may experience repeating cycles of illness and relative health. Close monitoring and regular vet care are important to manage the disease.
Any close contact among cats can spread FeLV, including bite wounds, mutual grooming, or sharing feeding dishes and litter boxes, so they should be housed without other cats or only with other FeLV+ cats. Because DPA believes these special cats still deserve to live out their lives in a loving home, the adoption fee for FeLV+ cats will be discounted 50%.

All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for cats over six months to seven years is $100, kittens under six months is $150, cats eight years and over are $50 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-cats/ .
