Barnaby's Story

💔 Help Us Heal Barnaby’s Broken Heart
🐾 Meet Barnaby: The Little Survivor
Age: 2 months old (8 weeks)
Coat: Classic Brown Tabby (with beautiful stripes and big, soulful eyes)
Weight: Under 3 pounds (Tiny baby!)
Breed: Domestic Medium hair
Personality: Soft-spoken, sensitive, longing for safety
🏠 His Story
Barnaby’s short life has already been filled with unimaginable heartbreak. He was originally given away "free to a good home" when he was just a tiny 5-week-old baby, only to be abandoned three weeks later. His owners locked him inside an empty apartment and moved away, leaving him completely alone in the dark.
He was finally discovered by a cleaning crew coming in to prepare the unit for the next tenants. When the previous owners were tracked down and contacted, their excuse was chilling. Their words exactly were that they "wanted a kitten fresh out of the womb" and that at just 8 weeks old, Barnaby was "just too old for their taste."
They didn't want the expense of a growing cat, so they threw this helpless baby away like trash. Look at his flattened "airplane ears" in his photo. He is still absolutely petrified from the trauma of being abandoned by the only people he ever knew.
🩹 Current Needs
Because of this severe betrayal, Barnaby is currently very frightened.
He flinches at sudden movements and loud noises.
He flattens his ears and shrinks down to try and make himself invisible.
He needs an adopter who understands that building trust takes time.
Once he builds trust and feels completely safe, he will give you lots of purrs and cuddles.
🏡 Perfect Home Goal
Barnaby needs a quiet, patient, and loving home without loud dogs or small children. He needs a true savior who will look at his terrified, wide eyes and promise him: “You are safe now, you are not disposable, and I will love you forever.”
Please text 714-882-9865 and complete the application online at www.rescuemepets.com/forms
