Barn Cats's Story
At any given time we have cats that would prefer to be outside. They may be feral, or just not very socialized to people. They may be currently in a foster home or still in a colony. Those that are still in colonies will need to be re-trapped, so there is a lot of coordination involved. In order to be approved for barn cats you must be able to provide a sturdy structure in a safe area. You must agree to provide food and water daily. You must be in an area where the cats will be protected from predators. While cats provide rodent control they still need nutritious food to keep them healthy. They need to have someone lay eyes on them everyday to make sure they are okay and to see that they are showing up each day for meals. all cats will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, and treated for fleas and parasites. There is no charge for barn cats, but donations are always accepted.
