Barn Cat/Working Cat/Mouser's Story

Mousers for hire! We have unsocialized and under-socialized cats who need jobs! We are always looking for farms able to take 2-4 (or more) healthy, sterilized, and vaccinated cats.

We need places for “teenage” sibling groups as well as adult cats that we pull from local animal control facilities after they are listed as unsocialized or unadoptable because they are feral or because they are friendly but could not handle the shelter setting and shut down, and were therefore placed on the euthanasia list. They need a home at a farm, horse stable, agribusiness, or other suitable property with 24/7 access to shelter.

All cats will be sterilized and vaccinated against rabies. We will deliver the cats and help get them set up for their required acclimation period in a tack room, chicken coop, or large pen.

Caretaker responsibilities include providing daily food and water, protection from the elements, and long-term veterinary care.

After a short stay in secure confinement (tack room, chicken coop, temporary pen) to acclimate them to the new sights, smells, and sounds of their new home, they will be ready for their new job as mousers! Cat Zip Alliance/Campus Cats's Adoption Policy
Please contact us at feralcatcaregivers@yahoo.com in order to set up a time to meet our adoptable cats and kittens. We have a quick questionnaire we ask potential adopters to fill out so we can be sure we are making the purrfect match! All of our cats and kittens are combo-tested, spayed/neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper, and receive standard flea and worm treatments. Most will also be microchipped at the time of spay/neuter. In some cases where we have both the mom cat and her kittens, only the mom cat will be combo-tested. Except for the barn cat program, we adopt to indoor-only homes, and require adopters to provide a cat carrier in order to safely transport their new family members home. We do not have a set adoption fee, but we do ask for an adoption fee of your choice so that we can help more cats and kittens. Our adoptions are not free. If you are interested in mousers for your barn/farm, contact us about our barn cat program.
