Banshee's Story

I'm Banshee, a little black cat with a couple of little white toes and sassy purrsonality. I'm a bit silly, you know that quote from the 90s movie The Craft "We are the weirdos, mister"? Yeah that's basically my motto in life.

I showed up on a northwest Detroit porch young, pregnant, and looking for help. I was taken in immediately and fixed, so no more worry about becoming a teen mom anymore now! I am now as sweet as pie to any person I meet, and love to be carried around and treated like a little baby myself, as I should be.

I have a quirky personality and get laughs often. I like to chirp and talk, and I'm always twitching my tail for one reason or another. I'm super curious, but take a minute to get comfortable and come out of my shell. I do love to rub up against your legs, ask for pets, get them, and then scoot off while I chirp "Thanks!".

I would do great as a single cat in the house, or with one or two other kitties/animals if they are respectful of my space and calm until we become better friends. From starting life as a baby on the streets, I had to get tough quick, and I would ultimately love to have a comfy home and person all to myself to snuggle with. However, since I'm still very young, I should have little issue acclimating to any siblings with the proper introductions and some time to decompress. I've made great friends with Reggie here, and actively seek him out to cuddle and play, and we eat breakfast and dinner next to one another every day (by choice) so I know I like other cats, I just have to get to know them a little bit.

I am fixed, vaxxed, FelV/FIV negative, and ready to meet my new family! I have all my claws, and if you provide vertical and horizontal scratching posts, I will use them, and am working on becoming patient with regular nail trims. If you'd like to meet and see if we're the purrfect fit, please submit an application for me!

West Side Purrs's Adoption Policy
Please read our adoption policy carefully before applying: We work to match our cats with the most suitable homes and with respect to the order in which we receive the applications. We reserve the right to approve or deny all adoptions as we are committed to the welfare of the animals in our care as well as meeting your personal needs. Adoption fee is $175 for kittens and $125 for cats older than 1 year. This covers spay/neuter surgery and recovery, rabies and FVRCP vaccine, FIV/FLV testing and treatment for fleas/worms (this fee does NOT include microchipping). We have spent much more on them already and are not asking for any fee to cover the expenses we have had throughout the duration of their stay with us like food, litter, vet and medications when they were sick, etc. Adoption fee is collected at the time of adoption. We accept cash, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Zelle. This fee is non-refundable. Kittens are social animals and do better in pairs! If you do not have a friendly feline in your home, please consider applying for 2! Those interested in adopting pairs are given priority. A reduced adoption fee for both cats will be granted in the instance of two being adopted together. Should there be any reason that you can no longer keep your cat, we will take them back as a surrender. You are required to contact us first before considering shelters, or other placement. We provide superb care for the animals with us and make a reasonable effort to provide healthy kittens and cats to adopters. Nevertheless, West Side Purrs is not responsible for veterinary bills or treatment of any cat after leaving our care. Please allow us 48-72 hours to review your application. We respond to all new inquiries Tuesday-Friday. Fill out the form thoroughly. Incomplete adoption applications will not be considered.
