Bailey's Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

***Bailey is a brave soul and having Bijou as his sidekick would be a fabulous continuation of their adventure together. Ideally, he should be adopted with Bijou; if not, with appropriate introduction and integration, Bailey can make new friends with other young, laidback and playful cats.

Bailey has the distinguished look of a tuxedo cat with slightly off-kilter, random markings that set him apart. Of all his brothers, Bailey was the bravest, most inquisitive and adventurous, casting aside his misgivings about people once they proved to be sources of all good things. This super smart kitty is not shy to voice his opinions, and can figure out toy puzzles quickly, proving himself to be not only resourceful but highly adaptable.

Bailey enjoys toys and games of all kinds, and is always the instigator of play with his brother Bijou. He loves to chase the flying wand and hunt down hidden treats; anything that keeps him on the go and engages his mind is fine by this energetic, curious cat. Scaling high on the cat tree so he can look out the window and live stream reality TV is also a fave, more sedate activity. He has no qualms climbing up the chest of a seated person in order to lick a Churu treat, and quite enjoys the bonus head and back rubs while he slurps happily away.

Bailey enjoys both wet and dry food, and will never turn down a treat! He is curious about the house cats through the pet guard, and is up for a game of punting the ball back and forth under the barrier when Bijou wants to show off his batting skills.

With time and a consistent, stress-free routine, Bailey has settled down to enjoy human company in his space even if he just sitting closeby and watching the action out the window or the pet guard. Day by day, Bailey is inching closer to the need of affection and interaction, even if he is still a little skittish. If you are willing to meet him half way and open up your heart and home to this cautiously optimistic, smart but wary kitty, Bailey is happy to move forward at a pace that will, at last, convince him that he is finally home.

Would you like to make Bailey, and maybe Bijou as well, a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it's twice the fun for you, and half the work!
