Bahama Mama and Bimini's Story

Bahama mama is a tame but nervous cat who had been abandoned and living outside for who knows how long. She was trapped with her kitten Bimini At the Elmsdale Superstore. These two are a bonded pair that must get adopted together.

They have been fully vetted and are now healthy. When she was first rescued Bahama Mama pooped out a lot of plastic food wrappers because she was starving to death and was eating anything that smelled like food. Bimini was just a tiny kitten who was about 8 weeks old but only weighed 0.81 kg and she was skin and bones. Both kitties have been eating a healthy diet and gained plenty of weight since they were rescued. The kitten Bimini is now nearly 6 months old and she loves to play with other kitties at the rescue, and even wrestles with our little dog.
Bahama Mama gets along fine with all the other cats at the rescue. She ended up eating too much kitten food in the early days of being rescued, and getting a little bit overweight so she needs to work on a diet. At mealtime she walks around squawking and meowing at us demanding food. Both girls have been tested for feline leukemia and fiv, they have been fully vaccinated with boosters, they have been spayed and microchipped.
Bahama Mama had terrible problems with her teeth, because some of them were broken off and infected and others were missing. She had to have an expensive dental surgery to remove many teeth and now she only has four teeth left. But that doesn't stop her from eating! She loves wet and dry food.

Normally our adoption fee for a kitten is $400 and our adoption fee for a cat is $300 so it should be $700 for the pair but we are willing to reduce the fee to $600 in the interest of getting them adopted together.

Bimini started out Life as a feral kitten but now she is super affectionate, but she growls and whines and has a very amusing personality. You have to get to know her to love her. Early in the morning she crawls on my bed and snuggles up between my neck and ear and wants lots of love. She's such a sweet kitty with the softest fur in the world.

If you are interested in adopting this mother-daughter duo, and can provide them with a safe indoor home, please call Sonya at 902-469-6369 to get the application process started. You can email katsonya@gmail.com to get a link for the application to adopt.

Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat & Animal Rescue Society's Adoption Policy
In order to be considered for adoption, you must call Sonya at 902-469-6369 for a discussion to see if you may be a potential fit for one of our adoptable cats or kittens. Then email katsonya@accesswave.ca for an application and call your vet to give them permission to discuss your history with us. We request a donation of $275 for a cat that has been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated twice, spayed or neutered, treated for parasites and microchipped. We request an adoption fee of $350 for a kitten. Kittens are tested for Feline Leukemia, as they cannot be tested for FIV until they are 6 months old, so we generally rely on the mother cat's test result for FIV. Kittens are fully vaccinated three times, spayed or neutered and microchipped, as well as treated for parasites and any existing illnesses or injuries.
