Baby (Special Diet)'s Story
Meet Baby – Our Original Scruffy Paws Superstar

Listen up, friends! We’re on a mission to find forever families for our long-term residents, and we’re kicking things off with a true original—Baby!

Baby is officially the longest resident at Scruffy Paws—he’s been with us for a whopping 5 years and going! He’s around 8 years old and a hefty 17 pounds—basically turkey-sized, and just as special.

He first came to us during a small hoarding case. These cats were physically cared for but hadn’t had much socialization, and none were spayed or neutered. The original plan was to fix them and return them to their owner—but when the time came, the owner no longer wanted them. And just like that, we had seven undersocialized adult cats and nowhere for them to go. As a small rescue with limited space, it was a big challenge—but we stepped up.

Over time, all of Baby’s friends found homes—except Baby. But he’s come a long way since arriving. His foster mom can now pet him and even pick him up from time to time. He gets along well with other cats and has shown so much progress. He’s not a lap cat and prefers things on his terms, but with the right home, we believe he still has untapped potential.

Baby has had some health challenges—he experienced urinary blockages in the past and underwent PU surgery. Because of this, he’ll need to stay on a prescription urinary diet for life. Don’t worry—Scruffy Paws will provide 12 months of his prescription food to help his new family get started.

He’d do best in an adult-only home or with respectful older kids. He must go to a home with other cats—he thrives in feline company, especially with confident cats who can match his energy. Submissive cats might find him a little too much. And no dogs for Baby—he’s not a fan.

We’re looking for someone patient, understanding, and ready to offer Baby the stable, loving home he’s waited over five years for. His adoption fee has been fully sponsored, but our standard adoption process still applies.

Baby has waited long enough. Let’s find him the forever family he truly deserves.

Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. The bio is the best place to find the most current and important information about their needs, personality, and ideal home.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If this post is still up, we are still accepting applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). There's no need to email us about availability, just submit an application if you're interested! For more information about our adoption process, please visit our website: https://scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/about-adoption/

All adoption fees include:
- Spay/neuter surgery Adoption Process
- Microchip
- Rabies and distemper vaccinations
- Proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing
- Flea treatment & deworming
- A veterinary exam

Please Note: Scruffy Paws operates by appointment only and is not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are in foster homes, so for the safety of our fosters and adopters, an approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet-and-greet.

Ready to apply?
