Babble and Ballyhoo's Story

Meet Babble and Ballyhoo, an affectionate cat couple! Babble, the fluffy gray girl, is approximately 2 years old and Ballyhoo, the Siamese mix boy, is approximately 4 years old. Once living outside with their kittens, these spunky empty nesters came to Alley Cat Project in April.

Babble is a petite lady with a long silky gray coat and a half-length tail who loves to receive pets, play with Ballyhoo’s tail, and bat at wand toys. She keeps herself entertained by hunting pompoms and rolling her ball around its racetrack. Once settled, Babble is a friendly companion who enjoys soaking up attention. She has her own language of cute little noises she makes to ask for food or pets as she rubs against your legs. Babble can be shy with new people and hesitant about being grabbed, preferring to be the one initiating petting sessions. Startling Babble is likely to result in Ballyhoo, her protector, running over to make sure she is okay.

Ballyhoo is a large short-haired seal point gentleman who likes to spend his time grooming Babble and hunting pompoms. He craves lap time and wraps his arms around your leg in a possessive embrace. Ballyhoo is a vocal guy who follows his foster parents around the house demanding food and attention. He involves himself in all household activities, exploring cupboards, the washing machine, and the fridge at every opportunity. He adores being held by his favorite people until their arms get fatigued.

Ballyhoo is too brave for his own good and faces all of his fears head on, even the resident dogs and vacuum cleaner. His threshold for overstimulation during petting has increased dramatically, but their adopter will need to learn to read his non-verbal cues. He has a history of acting out when he is frustrated, including nipping and biting at hands and feet. Any perceived threat to Babble or other cats in the home puts Ballyhoo on edge, and he will do anything in his power to rescue them, even if it means climbing his favorite person.

Together, they make a personable and often clingy pair. They love grooming each other and their coats are always in perfect condition as a result.

What Babble and Ballyhoo are looking for in a home:

- They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair.
- They can get nervous, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them feel comfortable with new experiences.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have a positive history with other cats.
- They have a mixed history with dogs.
- They need an adult-only home.
- Ballyhoo requires a special diet for his sensitive digestive system.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in Babble and Ballyhoo! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not send an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire. Many of our cats receive numerous applications, and we thank you for your patience while we review applications and find the best match.

Please do not follow up on your application by phone or email as this will not expedite a response. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we appreciate your understanding.
