Azalea's Story
Hi, my name is Azalea! I have had a hard past, but am looking forward to a bright and beautiful future!

When I was first found, my eyes were so incredibly infected that the humans who found me thought I didn’t have eyeballs. They were able to catch me and brought me to 4 Paw Vet to get immediate vet attention because again- my eyes were so badly infected my eyeballs were not visible, so they thought I was an eye-less cat. After Dr. Barb was able to treat my eyes for a few weeks and the infection started going away, my eyeballs were revealed and everyone was a little shocked to discover that I actually DO have eyeballs! Once I could see, I instantly started warming up to everyone around me. I stayed at 4 paw vet for months while they nursed me back to health! They spayed me, got me all my vaccines, and tested me with other animals. They discovered that I am EXTREMELY afraid of dogs, so they asked Pet Angel (a cat only rescue, so there are no dogs here) If I could join their rescue to find me a home, and they said yes! So I joined Pet Angel! Upon my arrival to the rescue, I was so afraid I pooped all over myself. But the Angel’s were able to clean me up, and gave me a few weeks to decompress here. Now, I’m doing wonderful and am ready to meet my new family!

I am so, incredibly sweet. In fact, if you could hear the photos of me in this adoption post, you would just hear LOUD purring- because I am always purring when humans come around me! My purrs are so loud, you won’t believe how a petite gal like me can purr this loud! I adore hidey hole beds, and am obsessed with the hammock in my cage! I am a gentle, soft-spoken, quiet girl. I get nervous with fast movements coming toward me, and get a little hesitant when it comes to new surroundings. When there’s a lot going around, I like to retreat to my own space, so I’m hoping to find a quiet home that I can feel calm in all the time! With patience, time, and gentle interactions with humans, I become more confident and comfortable. Moving to my new home will be a little nerve-wracking for me, but Pet Angel will walk my family through out to make it easier for me, and after a few weeks of a slow introduction, you’re going to wonder how you ever lived a life before me!

I am fixed, microchipped, up to date on all my shots, and am negative for FIV/FELV. My eye’s are fully healed and need no extra care moving forward! I am looking for a strictly-indoor only home where there are NO DOGS (and a guarantee there will never be any dogs. Meaning, my future family will not get a dog later during my lifetime. I have been tested with them and will not ever be able to be around a dog.) I also need a home with gentle children over the age of 12, as I have not done well around rambunctious or active children. I would do great in a home as the only cat, or in a home with 1 or 2 other laid-back, relaxed, easy-going cats. If you cat likes to run, play and wrestle- I am not the right match for them.

I am so sweet and gentle and I just know that once we have the chance to meet and begin building a relationship together, you’re going to call me your soul cat. I can’t wait to meet you! If interested in a meet and greet to see if we’re the purrfect fit, please submit an application at https://petangeladoption.com/adopt-a-cat
