Axel's Story
Meet Axel!

Axel is a pure black male adult cat (all black cats have Siamese in them) approximately 9 years old. He might be small but he has inner big cat, he is a little soldier and is very loyal.

He gets along with other cats or he can be a single kitty. He did live with a dog but is not fond of dogs. His foster home has a cat friendly 40 lb dog but Axel would be better in a home with no dogs. It would be less stressful for him.

Mr. Axel had a dental cleaning, x-rays and some teeth extracted on Feb 5, 2026 and he did great! He has healed from his surgery and is available to be adopted. He was recently tested and had pre-surgical blood work. He got his vaccines on Feb 5 as well. All his vet work is done!

Axel did test positive for feline calicivirus. He was under the weather when he arrived at his foster home in November 2025. The vet suggested testing him for calicivirus because of the symptoms he had. He tested positive for it. I have attached a link to have a better idea of what it is.

https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/baker-institute-animal-health/research-baker-institute/feline-calicivirus

He loves to be petted and his foster mom picks him up and holds him.

Is he a lap cat? Absolutely!!!!

He is a good eater, he loves his canned/wet food and Churu's (lickable treats).

He was an indoor cat only up until the last year or so and became an indoor/outdoor cat at his original home. He is in a foster home now where he is indoor only again and he has made no objections at all about it. However, a catio/ screened in porch would be ideal so he can have the best of both worlds!

Axel is doing well in his foster home and is a pretty chill kitty. He loves to carry a toy mouse in his mouth and will be vocal to let everyone know he caught a mouse and then he will bring it to you! It is the cutest thing! He also likes to play Da Bird. He is still a young kitty at heart!

For questions or more information or to adopt Axel please call or text his foster mom Annette (615)484-8560 annette_barkley@yahoo.com

Thank you!
