Meet Axel!<br/><br/>When Axel first came to us, he was a very scared little boy, and it was clear he hadn’t come from a good situation. He was constantly on high alert, didn’t trust anyone, and kept his eyes wide open at all times. He would cower when someone tried to approach him and hide whenever he heard unfamiliar sounds. Seeing him so fearful broke our hearts.<br/><br/>With time, patience, and love in foster care, Axel has made incredible progress. He no longer runs or hides when his foster mom comes to see him. He’s started to play—strings are a favorite! —and has become quite the little adventurer, curious about the world around him.<br/><br/>Axel is now a true love bug with his foster family. He’ll gently head-butt your hand when he wants pets, curl up in his foster mom’s lap, and drift off to sleep. Watching him realize that he is safe has completely melted her heart.<br/><br/>Axel will thrive in a home that’s willing to be patient and meet him where he is. With time, his personality continues to shine as each layer is gently peeled away, revealing a wonderful, sweet, and happy boy. Axel is searching for his forever home—and he’s hoping it’s with you. <br/><br/>Axel will go to his forever home fully up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
