Avery's Story

Avery was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. Folks noting that he has an ear tip may be concerned that he is feral, but rest assured that Avery is a sweet but shy young man who is easy to handle. Some low-cost veterinary clinics in Texas insist on tipping the ears of every cat they fix, which is how Avery ended up like this. He is friendly but not super confident; Avery gets anxious when he hears dogs barking or when there are sudden & frequent loud noises. Because of this, we think he'd thrive in a quieter home without small children or noisy dogs. Whoever gets to help this boy acclimate to his new life will be rewarded with a sweet companion; he will likely never be the cat who runs to the door to greet strangers, but we believe that he will bond deeply with someone who takes them time to help him feel safe. If you'd like to help this shy lad find his place in the world, come meet Avery today...he's definitely waiting for you.

If you'd like to meet Avery and all of his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed).
