Avery's Story
Avery didn’t have an easy start in life. At some point, someone had him neutered and then put him back out on the street. He eventually found his way to a feeding spot for a longtime feral cat, and the kind person caring for that cat began feeding him too. Avery showed up every night for months, no matter the weather. When it got really cold, CLAWS stepped in to help.

He was placed in a temporary home, but it wasn’t the right fit. Now he’s in a shelter-type setup where he’s safe and cared for, but what he really needs is a place to call home. He just needs someone patient and kind to give him time to adjust to home life—maybe for the first time ever.

Avery enjoys being petted and spending time with people. He gets along with other cats, but he’d also be fine as your one and only.

If you can help this sweet boy, please text 201-832-8332. You can also fill out a foster or adoption application at http://www.closeadopt.org. Thank you.
