Aurora, Willow Grove Area (FCID 11/08/2023-132)'s Story
Meet Aurora, a beautiful adult tortoiseshell with a two-toned face. This young lady had a tough time on the streets, but in a Forgotten Cats foster home she enjoys the security of constant food, soft blankets, and attention from caretakers. Her unique markings make it hard to resist showering her with affection, but in typical Tortie fashion, Aurora will let you know if she is in the mood for attention or when she's had enough.
Since coming into foster care, she’s been showing off her playful side. She loves chasing laser lights and turning empty boxes into her personal playground. Her nickname is Auroraboradorable—because she’s as magical as she is adorable. Like any true tortie girl, she’s full of charm, personality, and just a hint of sass.
She’s making sweet progress—now she waits for me to give her pre-meal pets, and she’s learned to paw at me when it’s dinnertime (or when my hands are dangling in range). Her “nips” are just air nips or gentle mouthings to make her point, usually followed by a sassy tail flick. Typical Tortie girl!
The nickname for her: Auroraboradorable.
Her happy place? Getting gentle head scritches between the ears. She’s even getting braver about my hand coming toward her face—slowly but surely, this tortie girl is letting me in.
She also enjoys watching TV and looking out the window. She will claim your bed for her own but generously allow you to sleep there, too. When you wake up, she just might give you a head butt or lick your hand, probably to encourage you to get her breakfast.
She is comfortable around adults and gentle children, and we think she would be the perfect fit for a calm household with no other cats as she seems to be overwhelmed by feline companions. Aurora recently spent time with a cat savvy little girl and she interacted beautifully! While we don't know how she would respond to dogs, she would do best in a quiet household.
Please check out her video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SNXSTaeVTG0 .
Aurora is playing with her foster family. Please submit our no-obligation application for a meet and greet or to adopt. https://forgottencats.org . Thank you! (Foster: Cheryl P.)
