August's Story
Hi there… my name is August!
I’m a beautiful girl with soft Siamese-mix coloring, hints of calico magic, and the most striking baby-blue crossed eyes you’ve ever seen. I’ve been told they make me extra special… and I agree.

I came to the sanctuary from southern Minnesota as a pregnant, feral mama. Back then, I was very scared. Okay… very scared for quite a long time. Humans were not on my list of trusted things. But I did what I knew how to do best... I brought beautiful babies into the world, cared for them with my whole heart, and even helped raise some orphan kittens along the way. I took my job very seriously, and I was really good at it.

All of my babies have grown up and found loving homes. Now it’s finally my turn.

I’m spayed, healthy, freshly dentally cleaned (my teeth sparkle), and ready to start a new chapter just for me. Because I started life as an unwanted feral cat, my future family needs to understand that I’ll be scared at first. I’ll hide. I’ll watch. I’ll take my time. Trust doesn’t come instantly for me, but with patience, kindness, love, and maybe a few snacks, I promise it’s worth it.

These days, I actually love being petted. I enjoy gentle head strokes, soft voices, and being told how beautiful I am (please don’t forget that part). I’m not a lap cat and I don’t enjoy being held, but who knows, time has a funny way of changing things. I do love cozy beds, lounging comfortably, and having people come over to give me affection on my terms.

My favorite things include:
• Catnip toys
• Cardboard scratchers
• Soft, comfy places to nap
• Food (I am a big foodie… and yes, I have a bit of a tummy to prove it)

I would do best in a home with another cat… I really enjoy feline companionship and feel more confident when I’m not alone.

If you think you might be the patient, loving person I’ve been waiting for, you can come meet me any day between 1–5pm, even on holidays, at the sanctuary. I may not run up to you right away… but if you give me time, I just might give you my heart.

I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat.

I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.

If you are interested in adopting August, please come visit… we are open daily from 1-5pm (including holidays)… we want to meet you in person! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@furballcats.com or message us on Facebook: Furball Farm Cat Sanctuary.
