Audrey's Story

Audrey is extremely shy but incredibly sweet-a true purr machine once she feels safe. She needs time, patience, and a small, quiet space to begin building confidence in her new home. For the first few months, Audrey will do best in a crate, cat condo cage, or zippable playpen, which helps her feel secure as she acclimates. Starting small allows her to relax and slowly learn that humans are kind and trustworthy.

With time, Audrey will blossom into a loving companion and would thrive in a home where she can bond closely with her people. A single-cat home is ideal for her while she gains confidence. Once she's comfortable, adding a second kitten later is always an option-but for now, being your one and only will help her shine.

Bay Area Cats's Adoption Policy
Interested adopters can meet cats and kittens at our adoption center at 160 E El Camino Real inside of Petco in Sunnyvale, CA. Currently, meet-and-greets are primarily by appointment until we have our official opening later this summer and have regular hours. Meet-and-greets can also be scheduled at foster homes. During this time the potential adopter can ask questions and have a conversation with the volunteers showing the cats or kittens to learn more about the animals and their care. After the meet-and-greet, an adopter can move forward with the process by completing a pre-adoption survey at bayareacats.org/adopt (this can also be completed prior to the meet-and-greet). An adoption counselor will meet with the adopter to go over the cat’s medical and treatment history, future vaccination due dates, and diet. The adoption counselor will also provide education on additional topics indicated by the adopter in the survey, such as the initial confinement period (“sanctuary room”), cat-to-cat introductions, safe-outdoor access, etc. The adoption is then processed via mobile checkout and all information is emailed to the adopter for a paperless experience unless otherwise requested. Most adoptions are completed same day!
