ATTICUS's Story

ATTICUS - From growls and swats to cuddles and belly flops, this boy has come a long way!
D.O.B. 12/13/2021

- Male
- Brown & White Tabby
- Domestic Short Hair
- Neutered
- Microchipped & Dewormed
- FIV Positive, FeLV Negative
- Vaccinated for Rabies & FVRCP (at appropriate age and weight; if adopted before this, vaccines are adopter’s responsibility)

Atticus is a former street toughie who's discovered that life is a whole lot sweeter when you let a little love in! This handsome tabby was rescued during street cat trapping efforts in Aylmer, and when he first arrived, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with people. Frightened and defensive, Atticus would spit, swat, and growl whenever anyone tried to approach him. But with time, patience, and gentle care, something wonderful began to happen. Month by month, Atticus slowly started letting his guard down. His once-wary gaze softened, and the boy who used to keep everyone at a distance began showing his belly, seeking out pets, and asking for cuddles. These days, he even enjoys being picked up and carried around! Talk about a transformation!

Atticus has become quite the affectionate gentleman. Rather than hiding when someone approaches, he now waits eagerly at his cage door, hoping to be let out for some attention and snuggles. It's hard to believe this is the same kitty who once greeted everyone with a growl! He's also doing well sharing a walk-in space with other cats, showing just how far his confidence has come. Atticus would do best with a feline companion in his forever home. He hasn’t been tested with dogs or children.

When it comes to mealtime, Atticus isn't particularly picky! He enjoys his kibble, but offer him some delicious wet food, and you can bet that'll be the first thing he dives into! Atticus is FIV+, but his diagnosis doesn't define him. FIV+ cats can enjoy long, fulfilling lives with appropriate veterinary care, and Atticus has already shown just how much affection and companionship he has to offer!

After everything he's overcome, Atticus deserves a patient, understanding family who will appreciate his progress and give him the time to settle into his new surroundings. His journey from a frightened street cat to an affectionate cuddlebug is proof of what a little patience, kindness, and love can accomplish. If you're looking for a special companion with a remarkable story and a heart that's finally ready to trust, Atticus might just be your perfect match! Please fill out an adoption application today and give this brave boy the safe, loving forever home he's worked so hard to find!
