Athena's Story

Meet Athena, a sweet senior girl who's ready to find her forever home. Although she's shy at first, with some extra time and loving care Athena adjusts well to new surroundings.

As a calm and gentle-natured cat, Athena would do best in a peaceful environment. She likes her independence and will politely decline to be held or picked up, but she shows affection in other ways -- greeting you when you come home, coming over to say hi when you squat down to her level, joining you for naps at the end of your bed, and softly purring when you brush or pet her. She loves head brushes/scratches and will sometimes graciously roll over and show her belly during a good session.

At 10 years old, Athena is fairly healthy and has good litter box habits. She had a tooth extraction and now eats mostly wet food (preference for pâtés or less brothy mixtures) with a bit of water and a hairball aid added to each meal, plus kibble in between throughout the day. Plants should be non-toxic or out or reach as Athena likes chewing on the spider plant in her current foster home.

Athena should be adopted as the only cat in the home.

Like all ACR cats, Athena is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
