Hi, I’m Astrid! I’m a beautiful black kitten with the softest heart. I was named after Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon—brave, loyal, and full of love. I can be a little timid at first, but once I feel safe and know you’re my person, I blossom into the sweetest companion. One of my favorite things? Belly rubs! I’m a gentle little girl who will form a deep, special bond with the person who gives me the patience and love I deserve. I’m also part of the Snuggle Squad—a group of kittens from three different litters who grew up together and became the most loving, social crew. Because of that, I’d love to be adopted with one of my best buddies: Tart, Tuff Nut, Hiccup, Peter, Lark, or Lily. If that’s not possible, I’d be just as happy joining a home with a young, friendly kitty to keep me company. Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
