Asteria's Story

Asteria may not be the champion of the Amazon, but she'll certainly conquer your heart when she's on the hunt for her beloved catnip ball toys. Although a bit nervous around her temporary fosters dog, she did start to adjust and would likely do well with a cat savvy dog with slow and proper introductions. Asteria is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. During her check-up, Asteria was found to have some crystals in her urine. This is a common condition in cats and is easily managed with a special veterinary diet and regular annual vet visits. At the Carver Scott Humane Society, we follow an Adopter's Welcome philosophy. This means that instead of an overwhelming application process, home visits, and hoop jumping, we take a conversational approach to our adoptions. Our goal is to make adoptions possible and help you be a successful pet parent! Once an application is submitted, we take applications as "first-come, first-considered." While this does not guarantee that the first applicant will adopt the animal of their choice, it does guarantee that we will process the application all the way through before moving on to the next application in line. If you see an animal you are interested in, please apply as soon as possible! This does not obligate you to the animal in case you change your mind, but may assist in securing your place in line for that animal.
