Asher's Story

Our rescue is based out of Pikesville, Maryland!

We typically do not adopt more than 45 minutes away from Pikesville, so please bear that in mind! Also, if you are viewing this cat on Petfinder, note that ALL of our animals are spayed/neutered despite what it says.

Asher is an approximately six year old sweetheart with a heart as big as his personality. This affectionate boy absolutely loves being close to his people—whether he’s curled up in your lap, sitting by your side, or following you around the house just to keep you company. One of his favorite things in the world? A good brushing session. It’s the quickest way to his heart (well... that and mealtime!).

Don’t be surprised if Asher strikes up a conversation—he’s quite the chatterbox and always has something to say, especially when it’s time to eat or when he’s asking for a little extra love. After coming from a colony, Asher is ready to trade in outdoor uncertainty for the comfort and safety of a forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection and keep you entertained, Asher is your guy.

Like many former tomcats, Asher is FIV+ which means he may have more difficulty fighting off illness and infections. He will most likely have a normal lifespan, but regular veterinary exams are important.

Needs Must Cats will have received full vetting including spay or neuter, FIV/FLV testing, microchip, and treatment for parasites by time of adoption. The adoption fee in the amount below helps us assist more cats and kittens in urgent need. These fees do not even begin to cover our expenses so please consider making an additional donate to support our life-saving efforts!

Special Needs or Barn Cat - Donation

Adult Cat / Kitten over 6 months - $90

Kitten under 6 months - $150

Pair of Kittens - $275

Please feel free to contact us by email with any questions, or submit your application here: http://www.needsmust.org/adopt
