Arlo's Story

Arlo is a distinguished gentleman ready to find a new loving home. He retired young as a blood donor cat because of early renal insufficiency. Renal insufficiency means that his kidneys are not working like a normal cat. Cats can live with early renal insufficiency for many years and can be easily managed with diet. In other words, Arlo could live a normal life for many years with minimal treatment. Bloodwork monitoring would be recommended to check for any progression of his renal insufficiency. Early stages of renal insufficiency may cause increased drinking and urination. Medications may be given to manage symptoms at the later stages.

Arlo has a great personality. He is a mellow, friendly cat who likes to sit at the tallest peak of any cat tree he can find. His hobbies include bird watching and occupying any and all boxes. He is playful and enjoys laser toys, teaser wands, and a touch of catnip. He likes attention and gets along okay with most cats, especially females and submissive male cats. He has engaged in some urinary marking when he first moving in with new cats, so this may be something to watch out for in his new home. A low stress environment would be best for him, and he may be quite happy as an only cat. He loves humans and being doted upon.

If you think you might be the right home for a sweet boy with a mild special need, please contact us at adoptions@abrint.net
