Meet Arlo, affectionately known as Arlocito. He came to us from San Antonio Animal Care Services and immediately made an impression with his impressive size, even more impressive cheeks, and classic tom-cat ears. But underneath that big tom-cat exterior is one of the biggest kitten softies you'll ever meet. Just don't tell him we said that, he's tough!<br/><br/>Arlo is approximately 5.5 years old and FIV positive. When he arrived, he had a walled-off infection on his forehead that required surgical removal and 6 staples, along with entropion that was surgically corrected. Once he was feeling better, his personality really started to shine.<br/><br/>Arlo absolutely loves kittens. He has a natural knack for being a big brother and seems genuinely happiest when he has a little feline friend to care for. He loves grooming kittens, cuddling with them, and keeping them company. He's especially fond of kittens who need a little extra care, and watching this enormous cat carefully tend to tiny kittens is pretty adorable.<br/><br/>He's affectionate with his humans, too. Arlo sleeps beside his foster every night, follows her from room to room, and keeps a close eye on whatever is happening around the house. He's basically appointed himself the household's official protector, although his preferred security detail seems to involve supervising from the nearest comfortable spot.<br/><br/>Arlo is very food motivated and has strong opinions about meal schedules. If he thinks he's been unfairly deprived, he may occasionally express his displeasure with a smack or warning nip, but he continues to improve with structure, routine, and trust.<br/><br/>For all his impressive size and serious tom-cat features, Arlo is really a big-hearted softie who loves having someone to look after.
