Arlo's Story

Arlo, affectionately known as Arlocito, came to us from San Antonio Animal Care Services after making an impression with his large size, even larger cheeks, and classic tom-cat ears.

He is approximately 5 years old, FIV positive, and arrived with a walled-off infection on his forehead that required surgical removal, and 6 staples! He also had entropion that was surgically corrected.

Since his surgery, Arlo's personality has truly blossomed. He is deeply loving and has appointed himself the official protector of his foster home. He sleeps beside his foster every night, follows her faithfully from room to room, and keeps a watchful eye on household happenings. He is also wonderfully affectionate with other cats and kittens, often grooming and cuddling them, especially a tiny medical kitten named Suede.

Arlo is very food motivated and can occasionally be a bit bratty if he feels slighted or deprived, sometimes smacking or offering a warning nip, but his temperament continues to improve as he settles into routine and trust. With structure, patience, and love, Arlo has shown himself to be an incredibly devoted companion. To inquire about adopting this cat please complete an adoption application at tinyurl.com/ccapadoptions

San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition's Adoption Policy
Although our primary mission is to work on feral cat issues, we devote considerable time to adopting out TAME kittens and adult cats. In order to better manage the feral cat population, friendly cats and kittens are removed from the streets, placed with fosters, and spay/neutered before placing them up for adoption. Young kittens born to feral cats are ideally left with their mom until they are ready for weaning. They are then placed in a foster home, socialized, and spayed/neutered prior to being put up for adoption. Our rescued tame cats are all privately fostered in homes throughout the San Antonio metro area.
