Archie's Story
Archie is our mini bobcat! This handsome boy was found outdoors and it was clear he had a tough life so far. He is effectively blind in one eye, but he doesn't let that stop him! Archie was pretty nervous when he first arrived, but he's shown us that he loves gentle pets and affection. He will sit in your lap and soak up the attention. He is a big fan of food, treats, and a cozy bed. He is often snuggled up in the softest, plushest bed that staff and volunteers can find! He also loves to play with wand toys/interactive toys - he's quite the little hunter!

Archie is FIV positive. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a virus that can weaken a cat’s immune system. The disease is not contagious to humans or dogs, and it does not require any medication. He does not require any “special” care and would only need a nutritious diet and regular wellness visits like any other cat. FIV positive cats and FIV negative cats can live together IF the cats are friendly and introduced properly. Staff are happy to discuss FIV further with any potential adopters.

Archie is looking for a patient, understanding person who will set him up to succeed by slowly acclimating him to his new home. Shelter staff are happy to discuss acclimation more with potential adopters.

Archie is estimated to be about 3 years old. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and tested negative for FeLV.

Please contact staff at (401) 294-2754 or email animalshelter@exeterri.gov for more information on our adoption process. Please do NOT apply through Petfinder.
