April's Story
April is looking for a forever family to call her own!

She has had a bit of an adventure in her almost 10 years of life (as of February 2026). She originally was originally came to Stray Haven after being pregnant and abandoned at Jefferson County Animal Control along with eight other pregnant kitties. Since she was part of a hoarding situation, she has always been a bit shy.

April was adopted in 2017, but although she thought it was her forever home, she found herself back with us through no fault of her own earlier this year.

April is a very sweet but skittish girl. She currently lives in a house with 3 dogs and 6 other cats and finds that pretty stressful. She would do well in a home with no young kids and a smaller number of pets. She is cat and dog friendly but wants the dogs around her to leave her alone.

April currently lives with her sister Ava, who is a foster cat through Stray Paws Rescue, which is an entirely separate rescue. While they are not traditionally bonded, April would love to be adopted into a home with Ava because they each help the other one be brave. They enjoy each other's presence and don't like to go places without each other. April also acts as a guide for Ava, as Ava is vision impaired. (P.S. to Dawn, I can send pictures of April and Ava together if that's allowed.)

April has no ongoing health issues and as you can see from her photos, is a real couch potato! She would love a quiet home with a lap to curl up on. April is around 9 years old.
She is a sweetheart and makes a great companion for someone who is lonely and looking for a friend! If you would like to adopt, email strayhavenfeline@gmail.com.

All cats have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, are current on shots, flea treated, and dewormed. An adoption fee applies. If you are interested in me, please send an email to the email address listed in the pet's description. If no email address is specified, please email info@strayhavenrescue.org. Please allow 3-5 business days for a response.

Our adoption application can be found here: http://strayhavenrescue.org/adopt-a-cat/adoption-application/

Check out our website: http://www.strayhavenrescue.org

Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StrayHavenSTL
