Apple Cider's Story

Meet Apple Cider. Apple Cider is a high-energy brown tabby with a flair for the dramatic and a love for all things chaotic. Rescued as a teenager alongside his mom, Pumpkin Spice, he once showed glimmers of potential for human affection-but he quickly decided that pets were overrated. He's incredibly curious, though, and will eagerly investigate your presence, sniff your outstretched hand, and even seem excited to see you. But don't be fooled-he's just here for the entertainment (and the food).

His preferred form of communication? Hissing. Lots of hissing. But don't take it personally-he's all talk and no action. Underneath his tough-guy act, he's a big scaredy cat who simply doesn't know how to express himself any other way. He's far too busy sprinting around the house at full speed, initiating wrestling matches with his best friends, and finding new, creative ways to startle himself.

Apple Cider thrives in the company of other cats and would love to be adopted with his mom, Pumpkin Spice, and best friend, Estelle. However, he'd also do well in any home with a playful and cuddly feline companion to keep him entertained. If you're looking for a cat who will keep you on your toes, make you laugh with his ridiculous antics, and always keep you guessing-Apple Cider is your guy. Just don't expect to pet him. Ever.

Apple Cider is just shy of 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. Because of his semi-feral temperament, his adoption fee has been waived.

Oakland TNR Coalition's Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need. Each cat in our care has its own story and background. All are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless stated otherwise). Because of the time, care, and vetting put into each cat, our adoption fee is $110 for one cat over one year old or $200 for two, and $140 for one cat under one year old or $260 for two. Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved for adoption. Due to the influx of applications, we may not be able to reply to all applicants. By filling out this application you agree that all information on this form is correct and to our adoption process which includes a home tour, a vet reference (personal reference if you do not have a vet), and landlord approval if you are a renter.
