Annie's Story

Annie is a sweet, but very shy girl. She loves nothing more than to be pet and have her face rubbed/squeezed, but she is a fidgeter – so don’t expect her to sit still for too long! She’s got a fairly short attention span, so will be onto the next thing after a little petting session. Annie has a long, feathery tail, much like a Golden Retriever – unlike her bestie’s, which is a bit shorter and fluffy. Annie is not a very confident girl among her foster siblings, but her foster mom thinks that there’s vast potential for her to come out of her shell once she’s in a home with fewer animals seeking attention from their human. She does enjoy treats and Churus, but she is not a food motivated cat. Annie craves the attention of her foster brothers, Henry and Charlie, and she often follows them around the house in the hopes of cuddling together. Annie tolerates being picked up for a couple of minutes for a tight embrace, but soon wriggles away. She will join you in bed for petting and will sometimes sleep at the foot of her foster mom’s bed. Annie has yellow eyes and a feathery tail.

Annie loves “Cat TV” and to play with mice toys and balls she can pick up in her teeth or bat around but is most fond of ribbon/wand toys.

Pepper and Annie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They will take time, patience, and grace as they adapt to a new home. These are not cats who will immediately settle in and allow you to pick them up, etc. But they are absolutely worth every shred of energy you put into them! An ideal adopter would be understanding of this and give them the space they need to adapt, but also be home often enough to give them plenty of attention and stability. Their foster mom works from home, so they are used to a lot of human interaction/presence. With proper introduction, they would likely do well with other friendly cats but have never been around dogs of young children. They can sometimes get overstimulated from petting and can gently nip, so it is advised that they are not adopted into a home with children under 13, or in a home where an animal’s behavioral cues would not be understood/recognized. Overall, they are quiet, gentle cats.
