Angus's Story
SET THIS MAN IN A SUNBEAM AND HE’LL BE HAPPY AS CAN BE!

DSH, black and gray tabby
SENIOR MALE; EST DOB: 2010
ARRIVAL: November 6, 2020
HISTORY: Angus was surrendered after his owner was no longer able to care for him.

When he first arrived, Angus had to spend most of his time in a cat condo due to ringworm. When he was finally let out, the thought of going back in the condo left him grumpy and a bit reactive towards people. After just a few days of freedom, though, it’s as if he’s a completely different cat. Angus typically won’t seek people out but enjoys being pet by people he trusts. Since he’s a bit of an older fellow, Angus prefers to spend most of his time relaxing on blankets. We’ve also started letting him into the laundry room so he can have access to the enclosed porch. This is where Angus is at his happiest. He loves to stretch out in the sun and watch the world go by. When he’s outside he will even happily greet and approach visitors! Angus is also inquisitive and likes to explore. We sometimes find him in unexpected places. Don’t let his grumpy façade fool you. Angus is a layered, loving cat who would make an excellent addition to your home.

Dec 2025 Update: Our senior fella ANGUS is hanging in there! Our good friend is pretty deaf at this point and we have him in his condo for overnights to monitor his food intake of special dry/wet food for kidney support. We've noted he's lost a little bit of weight but his spirit is still intact and he seems his usual, happy self. A recent blood panel to check his thyroid, yielded a normal range. His regular volunteer friend Scott makes sure to stay in touch with our senior boy a couple times each week. He's very, very soft in his approach to Angus...barely touching him at first as invariably he's asleep, eyes shut and he can't hear him...so a feather-like touch to wake him up without startling him is the way to go. Once awake, he's all in for some special rubs, pets and massages. Pushing almost 15yrs of age, we're using kid gloves to care for our treasured man and for now, he's still set to enjoy the winter season. You got this Angus!!

Fall Update 2025: No doubt I’m an old man and I spend most of my days napping and napping and getting in more naps. These days I can be found on the window ledge inside where I can keep a close eye on the activity on the patio and then also inside my room. My good human friend Scott always gives me plenty of pets on my window perch and on very rare occasions, I might surprise him by hopping down and climbing into his lap. It’s a lot of work for this old timer but I do what I can. I recently had a good blood panel indicating my thyroid and kidney disease concerns are at bay. YES!! I’m slowing down no doubt but am grateful for the daily housekeeping and room service which is offered on a daily basis.
