Angel & Gene (Bonded Pair)'s Story
Hi there! We’re Gene and Angel, and we’re searching for a forever home together!

Our stories both began in June of 2025, when we were tiny kittens in need of help. Gene was found with his siblings and entered foster care through Pet Angel. Angel was just a day old when she was rescued after being found next to her deceased mama. She fought incredibly hard to survive — and thanks to the amazing veterinary team, she pulled through and truly earned her name!
Once Angel was strong enough, she joined Gene and his siblings in foster care. We grew up together alongside Tina, Louise, and Teddy, and had the best time with our foster family. Our foster family adopted Louise and Teddy, and after getting fixed and recovering, Gene, Tina, and Angel returned to Pet Angel. Tina has since been adopted, and now Gene and Angel are looking for a forever home — together!

Gene (yes, named after Gene Belcher from Bob’s Burgers!) is the more sensitive half of this duo — but don’t let that fool you. He absolutely adores people and melts the second you start petting him. Attention? Yes, please. All of it.

Gene is OBSESSED with the cat wheel (especially the One Fast Cat wheel in the free roam room). If he’s not walking on it, he’s sprinting on it — and if he gets startled, instead of hiding, he hops on and runs it out! It’s honestly adorable.
He can be a little easily spooked and needs a bit of time to adjust to change, but he is not shy. He depends on other cats to feel comfortable and confident — which is why being adopted with Angel is perfect for him. You may notice he’s slightly cross-eyed — that’s just how he was born, and it doesn’t affect him at all!

In February, Gene had a one time episode while playing with a stick toy. He was overly excited while playing with the toy, and had a short, one time seizure. He spent the weekend at our vet for 24/7 observation and bloodwork, and all of his bloodwork came back clear showing no signs of a underlying issue that caused the seizure. We have had Gene since he was just weeks old, and he never had one before this episode and he has not had one after this one time occurrence either. Our vet diagnosed Gene with having a ideologic seizure due to overstimulation. She has recommended that Gene no longer plays with stick toys or lasers moving forward, and she cleared him to go back up for adoption. We cannot tell you if this will be an ongoing issue moving forward for him, or if this was a one time incident. We are hoping to find a family that will understand this one time event in his past, and will be conscious of it while caring for him throughout his life, and if seizures are something that happens again in the future, will get him the vet care he needs. We are open to discussing this event with any potential adopters if you would like more information before moving forward with an adoption, as we want to be 100% transparent and help Gene find a family that will accommodate anything and everything he may need moving forward. Please do not hesitate to reach out to speak with us with any questions regarding this episode.

Angel is truly a little miracle. This beautiful calico girl not only survived a very rough start to life, she has blossomed into one of the most affectionate, outgoing, and loving kittens you’ll ever meet.
She’s a total purr bucket who loves making biscuits, snuggling in laps, and soaking up attention. Angel enjoys climbing scratching posts, playing in cat tunnels, lounging in her favorite hammock, and wrestling with her feline friends (especially Gene!). She’s playful, social, and full of personality.
With her white paws, mismatched leg coloring, and gorgeous calico markings, she’s as stunning on the outside as she is sweet on the inside.

We are looking for a strictly indoor-only home within the state of Michigan.
Gene and Angel need a home together, and we are not willing to separate them.
Gene and Angel do not respond well to change and will need some time to slowly adjust to their new home. We give advice on how to introduce your new cat to your home, but it is important that their new family follows this advice and gives them the grace during the transition period home.

If given the proper introduction and time, Gene and Angel will likely get along with other cats. However, it is vital that their future owners follow the cat introduction guide we give all adopters to ensure everyone gets along, as Gene and Angel both need time when adjusting to change.
Due to Gene’s shy behavior, they are looking for a home with no dogs.
Gene and Angel would do well with gentle, older children because Gene can be easily startled.

We are both:
• Spayed/neutered
• Microchipped
• Up to date on vaccines
• FIV/FELV negative

We are available for adoption through Pet Angel Adoption & Rescue in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

If you’d like to meet us and see if we’re the pair you’ve been waiting for, please read about Pet Angel’s adoption procedures and submit an application online at:
https://petangeladoption.com/adopt-a-cat

Two sweet personalities. One beautiful bond.
We can’t wait to meet our forever family!
