Andie is a big fan of cuddling once she gets to know you. Did you see her afghan photo?<br/><br/>She is approximately 2-3 years old. Her owner died. She was dumped at the Shelter with no information.<br/><br/>Andie is doing great! She has full reign of the house now. She loves to cuddle overnight in bed! She would prefer to be the only cat you cuddle with. Her foster has several cats but because Andie can be grumbly, being a solo kitty would be in her best interest. If you invite her to sit on your lap/chest, she will. Sometimes her purr turns into a little grumble. It’s funny. She’s a character! <br/><br/>She loves indoor/outdoor access so if you have a screened in porch or catio, that would be a dream for Andie. Andie cannot be adopted out if outdoor access is not secure.<br/><br/>If she’s irritated she will swipe at you to tell you she would like space but she doesn’t put her nails out, hiss or lounge. Her foster has found this out trying to engage in play. She likes a fast wand toy and a squishy ball. We don’t think she was brought up playing so we are trying to teach her!<br/><br/>She’s been around the foster’s 8 year old son. She doesn’t seem to impressed with him. So we aren’t saying she’s good or not good with kids she’s just kind of meh.<br/><br/>She loves her foster mom, a lot!<br/><br/>She likes her foster dad bc he’s warm in bed and he feeds her breakfast so she will run when she hears the can open and then patiently wait her turn with the other cats. She has great manners!<br/><br/>Andie is not a huge fan of adoption events (she gets bored and doesn’t beg like the kittens) so we are happy to arrange an in-person visit. She is housed in West Palmdale and the Rescue house is in Santa Clarita? Where are you located? Please include your phone number with your interest so her foster can text you.<br/><br/>We’d love to see her placed in a home that is chill. Where she can make her own choices to wander and be herself. We’ve noticed that like many British Short Hairs, she is happy to open up but likes to shower everyone on her terms. She will happily cuddle but it’s better if you just let her come to you vs. picking her up and trying to force things. <br/><br/>Notes from initial time with foster…<br/><br/>We are just getting to know Andie as we recently rescued her from her 3rd and final plea at one of Los Angeles Counties High Kill Shelters. She was there because her owner died. <br/><br/>When we first met her she came right up to the front of the kennel to eat some Churu that the foster’s 8 year old son was offering her. <br/><br/>A ginger girl is rare. We just adore her British Shorthair features that give her a bit of a serious expression. <br/><br/>She has been a little chatty in her carrier on the drive home and a bit in her big kennel. We have been petting her often and yet letting her have some space to herself. We noticed she is a little grumbly seeing the resident cats near her kennel so we look forward to giving her space in a big room to see how she is in a larger space and then how she is being introduced to some other cats.<br/><br/>She loves her cardboard scratcher. <br/><br/>She’s in her foster kiddos room and loves having space! She’s enjoying lots of pets after a great day at adoptions. She loved getting picked up and petted. Amazing for only one day out of the Shelter after her owner passed. <br/><br/>If you are interested in Andie, please bring your carrier to the adoption event. She’s available for meet n greets in the Antelope Valley (your home) or in Santa Clarita (your home, rescue home or Petco location). She will be at Petco Bouquet Canyon adoption events, dates may vary so let us know if you’d like to be on the list to meet her first.
