Amos's Story
Amos came to us around Thanksgiving 2025 and came to us very sick. He came with upper respiratory, eye and ear infections. He was dehydrated and malnourished and had an uphill battle to conquer.

He came to us with 4 other littles, plus one older buddy. Amos was one of four littles and was quite ill. He slowly came back to good health with the tender loving care administered around the clock by our shelter staff. With time, he overcame the slew of medical issues and is now in good health.

Amos is neutered and has received his distemper and rabies vaccines. He is up to date on flea & tick preventative and his brother, Frankie was feline leukemia & FIV tested and was negative for both. It is safe to assume Amos is negative as well due to their shared genetics and exposure.

We do not know how he would do with dogs - this is something we have not tested. He doesn't seem to mind other cats.

He prefers to keep to himself and observe from a quiet & hidden place. He would prefer to keep to himself and is a private kind of guy. He merely wants to exist and nothing more. However, this may change in due time once he learns people are not scary and he can trust his family. He will need a patient and loving family who will allow him to be him, perhaps from a distance for some time. The world he knew before here was scary and unpredictable - he needs time to know that not all people and environments are scary.

Ideal home: Amos may not do well with super young kids due to the high level of activity. He's not keen on being picked up and played with. He prefers to 'exist' and not be the center of attention.

Amos is a good kitty and worth the investment and wait. With time and familiarity, he may come out of his shell and be a wonderful companion for someone.
