Amiyah's Story

Amiyah, a gentle brown tabby, came in co-parenting six kittens with another nursing mama. She has a calm, nurturing nature, and despite having a rough start, she's slowly showing her true sweetness. Amiyah spent her first few weeks in foster hiding safely under a couch. With time, patience, and kindness, she has begun to open up-she now comes out for pets and even walked across a human for the very first time recently! She has shown no signs of agression, only caution and curiosity as she learns to trust. She will thrive in a patient home with someone who understands that every cat blossoms at their own pace. If you're willing to give her space, time, and gentle encouragement, she will reward you with her soft affection and tender personality. She has been fostered with both adult cats and a small dog and isn't bothered by either. All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped. At the Carver Scott Humane Society, we follow an Adopter's Welcome philosophy. This means that instead of an overwhelming application process, home visits, and hoop jumping, we take a conversational approach to our adoptions. Our goal is to make adoptions possible and help you be a successful pet parent! Once an application is submitted, we take applications as "first-come, first-considered." While this does not guarantee that the first applicant will adopt the animal of their choice, it does guarantee that we will process the application all the way through before moving on to the next application in line. If you see an animal you are interested in, please apply as soon as possible! This does not obligate you to the animal in case you change your mind, but may assist in securing your place in line for that animal.
