Amigo's Story

Amigo is a friendly orange shorthair, about a year and a half old, who was rescued off the street as a frightened, hungry, abandoned stray after the people he thought were his family moved away and left him behind to fend for himself in single-digit temperature. Heartbroken, he clung to the doorstep of his former home, wishing against all reality to have his former life back. A kind neighbor helped us get him off the street, and he went to the veterinarian the at the very next opportunity. He has taken well to being inside, especially after he discovered catnip. Amigo has spent much of his time sleeping and recouping with no nostalgia toward frigid temperatures. He loves treats, naps and scratches between his ears and is learning about toys. He’s a very chill guy who is grateful to be inside. He seems like he wants to make friends with the other cats in his foster home, although they're not quite so sure about that yet. We haven’t seen him around dogs or children yet. Amigo would do best in an interactive home where he isn’t left alone for long hours. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt this boy will gain a devoted companion for life. Amigo seems like a very easy cat who would be suitable for a first-time adopter.

He has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. His adopter will receive his medical records. He’s being fostered in Revere. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In Amigo's case, it's a mere $225-- a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of his life. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps rescuers match cats with the right adopters.
.
