Amie's Story

Amie is a confident gal, a NYC Socialite. Always the first to greet you and your guests at the door and not shy to ask for copious pets & head scratches with her little chirps and trills. She likes to snuggle in bed, especially in the morning to butter you up for her breakfast. After her meal she will get the workday started by demanding her screen time – this girl wants to play mouse games on your iphone or kick back watching her YouTube bird videos. Occasionally she will be entertained by the laser pointer, but when you break out the treats, that’s when she knows you’re serious!

She’s is the kind of girl that will shamelessly stake her claim whether it be on the couch and or bed.

She’s goofy when she grooms and will often forget to put her tongue away. (Her grooming poses are the silliest).

She came from an outdoor colony and has been known to have her select few besties, but she will also do well in a home with a human that will give her lots of attention and pets! Amie is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, dewormed and defleaed.

Brooklyn Kitty Committee's Adoption Policy
Applicants are encouraged to complete an adoption application (linked on this page). Once reviewed, a member of our organization will schedule a virtual interview with ALL members of your household. Persons under 21 years are not eligible to adopt unless they are living in a family home and their guardian agrees to the adoption and co-signs their adoption agreement. If your application is approved, we will coordinate a meet & greet with the kitty/kitties of your choice (where appropriate). If you choose to move forward with one of these kitties and we agree that it is an appropriate fit, you will complete an adoption agreement and an adoption fee must be completed prior to finalizing adoption and providing all medical records to you. If you have another pet at home, a minimum 2 week foster-to-adopt period will be mandatory to ensure that the pets get along in your home. Adopters will complete a foster contract, which states that the cat/kitten is still under the guardianship of our organization until a formal adoption agreement has been completed.
