Ambrosia's Story

Ambrosia "Ambee" wandered onto our property a few months ago appearing extremely thin. I first saw her in our front yard in the daytime eating something out of our burn pile. I discovered she had been chewing on paper towels. I didn't even recognize that she was a cat at the time because of the way she moved and how boney she was. I started putting out cat food and noticed she would only come out at night to eat. Over time she would appear when she heard my voice and would eat the food and water consistently. We do not know where she came from, but we are really glad she stuck around so we could help her. She now has her own room and recovered quickly from her spay. She is so excited every day just to play and be petted. We are also picking her up in short durations. She does not hiss or growl at us and we consider the level of trust we see as a success. She does get to run around outside of her room on the property for a few hours per day and is slowly becoming friends with Xander. She comes back to her room when I call for her. She eats about 4 times a day. The vet thinks she is around 1 year old based on her teeth. She is a bright and happy little spark of a cat and we think she would do well with experienced and patient guardians.
