Amaya's Story

Amaya is a stunning, affectionate cat with a royal air. She carries herself like a queen but plays like a wild hunter, pouncing on toys with laser focus. One moment, she's daintily grooming herself; the next, she's stalking a toy mouse like a jungle cat. She loves chin scratches, watching me do my makeup, and curling up near your legs at night.

She was part of Mama Kitty's third and final litter, making her the youngest of the original 10 kittens I suddenly found myself raising. Mama Kitty had three litters, leaving them all in my care before vanishing. I worked hard to find them homes-some were adopted, two disappeared, and I kept three. Then, Amaya and Taquito had four kittens of their own. Out of that litter, Amber stayed, completing their little family. Now, they live alongside the three cats I officially adopted from the 14, but I know Amaya and her little family need a space of their own where they can truly thrive.

Amaya has a sweet but independent nature. She asks for attention on her terms-meowing gently for pets but also enjoying her personal space. Loud noises startle her, but she always bounces back. She's not just beautiful; she's affectionate, playful, and full of personality.
As a mother, she still grooms Amber occasionally but also lets her be independent. She's bonded with both Amber and Taquito, so ideally, they'll be adopted together. If separated, she needs a home with other friendly cats.

Amaya deserves a home that will appreciate her gentle yet playful spirit.
Could Amaya be your new queen? Don't forget to check out Taquito (KR ID#: KRLA-A-6386) and Amber (KR ID#: KRLA-A-6389), too!
Follow @backyardkittens for videos and photos of Amaya and her adorable family!

If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her please email her foster parent: Jocie.sales@gmail.com
