Alvin's Story

MEET ALVIN!

Alvin's story begins in September 2025, when he was born into the wide, uncertain world and later found his way to Devore Animal Shelter. He was placed into the shelter's foster care program, but like many spirited young kittens, Alvin's enthusiasm got the better of him--he fractured a hind leg while playing. Though the injury healed, the shelter's veterinary team believed it had done so improperly and recommended amputation. Knowing his needs were beyond what they could provide, they reached out to rescue partners.

Kitty Devore Rescue stepped in that December, determined to give Alvin a second chance. After further evaluation and x-rays with our trusted veterinarians at two separate hospitals, it was confirmed that his leg had, in fact, healed well on its own and required no surgery. His slight head tilt, also evaluated by multiple veterinarians, was determined to be congenital and purely cosmetic--just one of the many things that make Alvin uniquely himself.

What truly defines Alvin, though, is not his past--it's his vibrant, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining personality. He is a deeply social cat who thrives on connection, whether that's with his human companions or his feline friends. Alvin loves to be held, happily melts into cuddles, and will often seek out affection with an open, trusting heart. He's also a classic high-energy youngster, always ready to chase, pounce, and wrestle his way through the day.

Interactive play is one of his greatest joys, especially when spring toys are involved, and he has a particular fondness for boxes--if there's one nearby, you can be certain Alvin will find his way into it. After a full day of play, he transforms into a cozy little companion, sometimes even sneaking under the covers to sleep beside you.

Alvin is looking for a home that matches his social nature and zest for life. He absolutely must have another young, playful cat companion in the home--one who can keep up with his energy and share in his daily adventures. He would do best with adopters who are present, interactive, and eager to engage with him, as he truly blossoms with attention and affection.

Alvin is the kind of cat who wants to be part of your world, not just observe it from afar. If you're ready to welcome a joyful, loving, and slightly quirky companion into your life, Alvin may be the perfect fit.
