Alice's Story

Meet Alice, an older girl looking for her forever home.

Alice came into CARMA’s care in 2018, with an infection and she was pregnant. Alice was very timid and shy and did not want any human attention or affection. She was very protective of her kittens, but once she began to trust her foster mom, Alice started to change. All of her kittens found their forever homes and Alice remained with her foster mom with several other foster cats.

With time and patience, Alice now does not mind being petted by her foster mom for short periods of time and on her own terms. She also doesn’t seem to mind being brushed. She does not like to be held or picked up. She is not a cuddly cat by any means, but she has come a long way.

She is still very timid and will run off if you approach her too fast. It will take a bit of time and patience to gain her trust, but once you do, it will be well worth it.

As she is an older girl, she is pretty quiet and spends her time napping or just hanging out. She can be found hanging out on a shelf or on the cat tree. She likes treats and patiently waits for them from her foster mom.

Alice gets along great with other cats, but doesn’t seem to need another cat in the home as she never seems to be snuggled up with any of her foster siblings. She may do fine in a one cat household. She definitely does fine in a home with other cats.

As we do not know Alice’s history with dogs, we do not know how she would do in a home with dogs.

Alice is still very timid, so she needs a home without children and she needs a quiet home without a lot of noise as she is easily startled.

Please consider giving Alice the forever home she so deserves! If you can’t adopt her, please share her story and help her find her forever home.

If you are interested in adopting Alice, please contact us at frederictoncarma@gmail.com.

As of October 2024 the adoption donations will be:

- Adult cat (over 12 months): $125
- Kitten (12 months and under): $200

CARMA, Fredericton Chapter's Adoption Policy
So, you've found your potential new best friend... send us an email and we'll get the ball rolling for you! All cats and kittens available for adoption by CARMA Fredericton are treated to ensure they do not have fleas, ear mites, roundworm, tapeworms, or heartworm. They are spayed/neutered and vaccinated at Ca-R-Ma's expense. We do not sell cats or kittens; instead we request that adopters donate to our spay/neuter fund. This amount can change from time to time - please check with our volunteers for the current minimum donation. CARMA does not have a shelter but instead relies on a network of loving foster homes to help us socialize and care for adoptable cats.
