Meet Alex – A Grateful and Mellow Cuddle Bug with a Big Heart! Alex is a total sweetheart who is so grateful to be safe and loved after spending tough years on the streets of the Bronx. Rescued in rough shape, this resilient guy has made a full recovery, though his ears still carry a few cosmetic reminders of his rough past. Despite all that, Alex is nothing but love – loyal, devoted, and thrilled to be inside with people who care. This goofy guy has a playful side that will keep you smiling, as he’s always ready to entertain with silly faces and funny poses. He's also chill and a big-time cuddle bug. Alex loves nothing more than curling up next to his humans on the couch or in bed, and he’s generous with his affection, doling out love to everyone – both humans and other cats. Whether you’re watching TV or reading a book, Alex will be there by your side, happy to share his warmth and companionship. He’s the kind of cat who will brighten your day with his goofy antics and shower you with purrs. Alex is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live normal, happy lives with no special care – and Alex is no exception. He’s already had a full dental to keep him in tip-top shape and doesn’t require any extra medication or daily treatments. FIV+ cats can live with other non-FIV cats, and Alex is as friendly as they come, making him an excellent companion for both humans and fellow felines. They are also litter box reliable and loving companions. To adopt, we require potential adopters to complete an application, provide basic references, and allow a video home tour to ensure a safe environment. An adoption fee is also required. We offer a two-week trial period to ensure the cat(s) is a good fit; if it doesn’t work out, we’ll retrieve the cat(s) and refund the adoption fee. We’re here to help with tips for introducing your new feline friend to other pets, if needed.

Bronx Tails Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy

Adoption fee applies. No cash and carry. Indoor-only homes (screens on all windows). No declawing. Our adoption process is: Find a cat/kitten you like. Fill out an application. We check your references and will do a home visit to ensure a safe environment. An adoption fee is paid when the cat is delivered. We allow an up-to-two week trial period to make sure the cat is the right match for the adopter(s) (especially when there are other pets in the home). After two weeks, we finalize the adoption and deposit the fee. All Bronx Tails cats are spayed/neutered, tested for Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia, given FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, treated for flea eradication, and de-wormed. They are litterbox-reliable and are used to nail trimming. All of these things are included in the adoption fee. If the kitten is too young for surgery at the time of adoption, we will arrange for and take care of these procedures post-adoption; typically when the kitten is between 4-5 months of age.
