Akira and Lafayette's Story

Meet Akira and Lafayette, a sweet as sugar bonded pair!

3 year old Akira was the de facto Mayor of The Cat Connection - while he was at our shelter, when anyone entered The Cat Connection, human or feline, Akira ran to his pod door to welcome them. He is the epitome of sweetness and friendliness in a furry orange and white, Domestic Short Hair, package. He had several pod mates during his stay with us and each has fallen madly in love with him once he greets them with his traditional nose touch and head bumps.

He suffers from idiopathic epilepsy and is looking for the perfect adopter who will give him the extra care he needs. Despite facing epilepsy, Akira is a true ray of sunshine, making him one of the most outgoing and charming kitties you'll ever meet. Managing his seizure condition requires 2 medications, including 1 that needs to be given 3 times/day.

While Akira's pod-mates have come and gone to their forever homes, Akira is still waiting for his forever family. Now happily spending time in a beautiful foster home, Akira has bonded with a dapper sweetheart, 1-year-old Lafayette, who first witnessed one of Akira's seizures and immediately ran to him to provide snuggles and comfort. It was an absolutely heartwarming and amazing scene! They are now certified "a bonded pair."

These two BFFs have told us that they want to be adopted into their forever home together, so if you are interested in adopting this dynamic duo please follow the instructions below!

--------
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://thecatconnection.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Following the instructions and filling out this application rather than emailing us will get you a quicker response.

Please also consider fostering as an alternative to adoption. Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two!

The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats.
